Achieve 2nd Place and Get 300 Million Prizes, Gunawan LIDA Shares with Parents

Kapanlagi.com - North Maluku native singer, Gunawan, became the runner-up in the Liga Dangdut Indosiar (LIDA) 2020 event. Clearly, this is a pride for Gunawan and his extended family in North Maluku.

"North Maluku itself is very happy and proud of Gunawan. Their words there, they are very proud," said Gunawan when met at Trans TV, South Jakarta, Monday (5/10/2020).

Gunawan's success is inseparable from the support of his parents and the community in North Maluku. Gunawan promised that after the COVID-19 pandemic, he will return to his hometown.

"If it is safe, the situation is safe, there is no pandemic, and there is time to go back, Gunawan will definitely go back. But if not, because now there is still a pandemic, so later," he said.

1. Runner Up

In the LIDA 2020 event, Gunawan became the runner up, while the first champion was Meli Nuryani from Cianjur, West Java. Despite sitting in second place, Gunawan is still grateful for what he has achieved.

Similar to Meli Nuryani, who became the first champion, as the runner up, Gunawan also received a cash prize of 300 million. Gunawan admitted that the prize had been given to his parents.

"Half of it, Gunawan gave it to his parents, it's up to them how they want to use it, and the rest, Gunawan saved it," said Gunawan.

2. Busy Being a Guest Star

In addition, after becoming the runner up of LIDA 2020, Gunawan started to be busy as a guest star on television programs. Gunawan hasn't been able to get many singing jobs because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"If there are job offers, we'll see for ourselves. Gunawan has just appeared on Brownis. As for off-air events, there haven't been any yet because of the pandemic. We don't know what it will be like after the pandemic," said Gunawan.

"But there are also offers from Gunawan's own region, from Gunawan's own province. But Gunawan has conveyed that, during the pandemic, we haven't considered jobs outside," Gunawan concluded.
