As a Judge of D'Academy 7, Dewi Perssik: To Achieve Success, We Must First Fail

Kapanlagi.com - The Dangdut Academy 7 Indosiar (DA7) is heating up! The Final Audition round officially ended on Wednesday night (25/6), marking the conclusion of the auditions for Group 8, the last group to perform on the grand stage of DA7. Five contestants successfully secured their spots to advance to the next stage along with 35 other contestants who qualified earlier.

The five contestants are April (Cirebon), Robi (Jakarta), Sastra (Cianjur), Tataw (Pandeglang), and Yulia (Bangka Belitung Islands). They outperformed two other contestants, Jelsi from Muara Enim and Hilya from Kediri, who were eliminated in this decisive round.

April and Robi gave outstanding performances and immediately received a golden ticket from the judges, namely Soimah, Dewi Perssik, and Wika Salim.

1. Jelsi Gets Motivation from Depe

Jelsi had to accept the bitter reality after being declared eliminated. She performed two songs chosen by the judges, namely Seujung Kuku by Ukat S. and Resesi Dunia by Edi Lestahulu. However, her performance was not able to captivate the judges.

"Her note control was off. Some improvisations were not accurate, and the articulation was not good. It sounded like she was being dragged along," said Soimah, giving a firm comment.

"Her stage act also seemed forced, not natural. It felt contrived," added Dewi Perssik.

Despite this, Dewi continued to encourage Jelsi at the end of her comments. "Stay motivated, okay? To achieve success, we indeed have to fail first," she said reassuringly.

2. Reasons for Hilya's Elimination

At the end of the Final Audition concert, four remaining contestants awaited the judges' decision. Three names were finally announced as passing: Yulia, Sastra, and Tataw. Unfortunately, Hilya had to stop her journey on the DA7 stage.

During her performance, Hilya sang two songs, Engkaulah Takdirku and Ditikam Asmara by Adibal Sahrul. However, her performance was deemed not optimal by the judges.

"In the first song, at the beginning and ending, the notes sounded flat. This is a big homework assignment for you in the lower notes, it was too nasal," Soimah assessed.

"Meanwhile, for the second song, I felt I couldn't enjoy your performance. It felt too rushed, making it not enjoyable," she added.

With this, the Final Audition round officially ends and 40 participants are ready to step into the next stage. The competition is getting tougher.
