Car Escapes Police Chase, Saipul Jamil Admits Fear Because He Was Mistaken for a Mugging Victim

Kapanlagi.com - On Friday afternoon (5/1/2024), Saipul Jamil was apprehended by the police on the Trans Jakarta route, in the Jelambar area, West Jakarta. After the investigation process, it was revealed that the police were targeting Saipul's assistant named Steven Arthur Ristiandy who was involved in a drug transaction.

Before being arrested, the car driven by Steven with Saipul as a passenger managed to escape the police chase. However, when cornered on the busway route, both of them were finally taken to the Tambora Police Station.

1. Feeling Innocent

Saipul Jamil explained why he allowed his car to evade the police chase at the time of the incident. Because at that time, he thought he was being chased by a group of robbers.

"So, honestly, I feel innocent, I have no guilt, suddenly there was a motorcycle telling me to stop but in an inappropriate way. Even though I explained to the police, I didn't really believe it. So I was scared. That's the reason why the car kept going because I was looking for a police station," said Saipul during a press conference at the Tambora Police Station, West Jakarta, on Saturday (6/1/2024).

2. Thinking Will Be Mugged

In a viral video, Saipul Jamil shouted when he was apprehended by the police. Not because he was hurt, but because he panicked thinking he would be mugged.

"There I shouted, I thought negatively. I apologize a lot to the Tambora Police team because I thought they were muggers. That's why I shouted like that to convince the public that I was in a situation where I was asking for help," explained Saipul.
