Kapanlagi.com - Dangdut singer Dewi Perssik shared her special experience celebrating her birthday in a different way. The woman affectionately called Depe chose to undertake an umrah journey with 29 family members as a form of gratitude for the blessings she has received.
"Yesterday I went to Mecca for umrah, Mas. Alhamdulillah I brought 29 (family) members," said Dewi Perssik when met at Emtek City Studio, Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, Friday (10/1/2025).
Dewi revealed that the umrah moment was intentionally planned to coincide with her birthday on December 16, 2024. She wanted to make the spiritual journey a birthday gift for herself and her family.
"So it was indeed planned for my birthday. That's why I brought my extended family. Usually, the birthday person receives gifts, but my mom said once in a while the birthday person should give back since they have received so many blessings," said Dewi.

This trip is also the result of Dewi's hard work during the recent campaign she conducted. She used the fruits of her labor to fund her family's umrah trip.
"Mom was campaigning yesterday, right? There were a lot of campaigns, so that’s the harvest. So I brought the money to use for umrah with my family, so I brought my older sibling, my biological sibling, her husband, and my niece. I brought them all along," she explained.
After completing the umrah, Dewi immediately continued her journey to Japan, even though she had only a very short rest period in Indonesia. In fact, she also brought along some of her assistants on the trip as a form of appreciation.
"Directly to Japan, no, I also brought a few more assistants. So I brought 6 (people). So at the same time, those who wanted to go for umrah, their visas weren't ready yet, and they didn't have passports," Dewi revealed.
2. Lack of Sleep & Jet Lag

The busy journey from Mecca, Turkey, to Japan made Dewi experience fatigue and jet lag. However, she still enjoyed every moment even though her sleep schedule became chaotic.
"Going here and there, then going home straight to work, so how could the jet lag be? Yes, the jet lag is still there, Mas, since we first went to Mecca. After Mecca, we went to Turkey, and just a few days later we went straight to Japan," she said.
According to Dewi, she only had two days of rest in Indonesia before flying back to Japan. Even so, she considers all these experiences as part of her responsibilities.
"Just two days of rest in Indonesia and then leaving for Japan to different places, even the sleep is less, but I enjoyed it," she explained.
"Yes, jet lag is still jet lag, even now it's time for people to sleep and my eyes are still wide open. But that's normal," Dewi concluded.
Despite feeling exhausted, Dewi remains grateful to be able to carry out all these activities. For her, the spiritual experiences and travels to various countries provide a special meaning in her life.
