In the midst of her issues with the misuse of her name on Facebook, Dewi Perssik is now facing netizens who are digging into the past of her adopted child, Gabriel. Depe is furious because there are many accounts suddenly discussing who Gabriel's father is.
"Please.. for the good people.. with humility I ask not to bring Gabriel's name for personal or any interests. Even mentioning Gabriel as the child of Mr. A or Mr. B from my past is very disturbing to us, especially to me as his mother," Depe wrote on her Instagram page on Thursday, (14/5).
"Gabriel is my child... born in this world only to ME as his parent, there is no one else, who his father is is my privacy. And I do not appreciate if the names of men from my past are associated with Gabriel, my child. Why “YOU MUST NOT SAY HIS FATHER IS THIS OR THAT, because I do not want to create a FALSE IDENTITY for my child and drag in the names of others in a relationship that actually does not exist," Depe emphasized.
Depe also emphasized that not everything about her child is suitable for comment. She requested that netizens stop making assumptions about other people's lives.
"My child is not a narrative for anyone. Empathy is important, especially when it comes to children. I, as the mother who cares for my child from the time they know the world, have never said they are adopted or fostered. It's the mouths of people who claim to be adults and faithful, yet act like uneducated and unempathetic individuals.
"Thank you for the attention of all parties. However, I hope the public does not judge the relationships and roles of someone in a child's life based on just one post. There are processes and realities that do not need to be exposed to protect my child's psychology," said Depe.
Depe refers to herself as a parent who has the right to discuss her child's privacy, not others. And Depe asks everyone to respect her child's privacy rights.
