Karen Hertatum Reveals How Dede Sunandar Divorced Her Only Through Phone Call

"Oh, yes, that's right. It is true. Just yesterday, on Sunday, he divorced me over the phone like that," said Karen Hertatum when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/05/2026).

This action further shattered Karen's heart after serving for over a decade as a faithful wife beside her husband. She did not expect Dede to act so coldly and not value his wife's feelings at the end of their relationship.

1. Mother-in-Law's Interference Becomes a Trigger

Karen recounts how trivial matters like laundry are often deliberately separated to distinguish her status in the house. She feels sidelined and never receives any defense from Dede when she experiences unpleasant treatment from her husband's family.

"There's no problem with his mother. It's just that she always interferes." complained Karen.

2. Choosing to Leave Without Husband's Obstacle

Dede Sunandar reportedly remains indifferent and makes no effort to prevent his wife and child from leaving their home. Karen feels that there is no longer any struggle worth fighting for in a marriage filled with pressure.

"I left on my own. No one stopped me, so I left that house by myself." Karen clarified.

3. Still Provide Access to the Child for the Greater Good

Although their romantic relationship has completely fallen apart, Karen remains committed to opening communication access for Dede regarding their children. She wants to provide the best for her three children even though their parents are in the legal process of divorce.

"When it comes to the children, we still communicate. We only discuss the children." said Karen.

Karen Hertatum is trying to recover and calm her mind from all the turmoil of household issues that are very suffocating. She hopes to soon rise again and create a new, more independent life without the shadows of a dark past.
