Becoming the champion of Dangdut Academy 6 some time ago has certainly changed the life of Owan Boalemo. He, who was originally just an ordinary village youth, is now well-known thanks to his skills in the biggest dangdut competition in the country.
In an interview with KapanLagi.com, Owan stated that since the beginning of participating in the Dangdut Academy 6 competition, he already had a strong motivation to compete. Hopefully, he can inspire the applicants of D'Academy 8!
"Back then, when I joined the audition, I was immediately given the challenge to become a champion. That definitely became a greater motivation for me when I passed," said Owan Boalemo.
Owan himself admitted that he initially never thought about becoming a big artist. His daily life before joining DA6 was as a Quran teacher and a fisherman in his hometown.
"I still can't believe it, I never thought about (becoming an artist)," Owan continued.
Throughout Owan's journey in the competition, he surely felt the challenges. Including the criticisms that came through social media that also reached him.
"Well, living in a village before, now in the city is definitely different," he said.
But luckily, Owan didn't think much about it. Moreover, he indeed had another goal when he successfully won the championship, which was to finance his younger sibling's college education.
"It's just normal, Alhamdulillah I don't think about it because one of my goals is to fund my younger sibling's college," he concluded.
