Disappointing the Regent of Bogor, Rhoma Irama Provides Clarification Regarding Concerts in the Red Zone

Kapanlagi.com - Rhoma Irama recently held a concert at a circumcision event located in Cibunian Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency, West Java, last Sunday (28/6/2020). This has disappointed the Regent of Bogor, Ade Yasin, as the King of Dangdut is considered to have disregarded his prohibition.

Before the concert, Ade said that he had sent a warning letter to prevent Ridho Rhoma from performing. Besides causing crowds, it is explained that Pamijahan is one of the 29 districts in Bogor Regency that is currently designated as a red zone.

1. Arriving as a Guest

To the media, Rhoma Irama explained that he obeyed the prohibition from the Regent of Bogor by not holding a concert. He attended a circumcision event alone and only as an invited guest.

"So I came to attend, nothing more. I said 'Soneta cannot perform because it's not purely PSBB yet'. They said 'If that's the case, Bang Haji can just attend as a guest'. So I attended," explained Rhoma when contacted by phone on Monday (29/6/2020).

2. Asked to Give a Sermon

While at the circumcision event, Rhoma Irama saw that a concert was still being held with artists from the capital city. Suddenly, he was spontaneously asked to give a sermon on stage, so Rhoma went up.

"When I arrived there, I saw several artists from the capital city performing, there was music. Then, spontaneously, the host and the community asked me to perform, to contribute a song or give a sermon. So I delivered a brief sermon," said Rhoma.

3. Asked to Sing

After delivering a sermon for a few minutes and intending to leave, the crowd asked Rhoma Irama to sing. So he sang without being accompanied by Soneta.

"I delivered a brief sermon. After that, everyone asked me to sing, so I sang. That's it. And during my time at the location, I was accompanied by officials from the waiting room, the guest room, and I was even escorted during the performance. I performed two to three songs," he said.
