"Actually, when talking about this (Covid-19), it's either sad or happy, as a public figure, you have to stay happy. But people don't know how difficult and sad it is for me. More than 100 karaoke outlets are closed," said Inul Daratista when interviewed on Trans TV, recently.

1. Some Start to Open

Inul said, since the government relaxed the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) or entered the new normal, several Inul Vista karaoke outlets have been reopened. However, of course, everything is in accordance with health protocols.

"There are several that have opened. It is the policy of the regent, mayor, and also the governor," she said.

However, of the several regions that have been reopened, Jakarta is not included. Moreover, recently the governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, re-implemented PSBB as in the early stages of the pandemic.

2. Concern for Employees

As the owner of a karaoke business, Inul admitted to being sad that Jakarta is implementing PSBB again. Because, for almost seven months, many of her employees have been forced to be laid off since Inul Vista karaoke was temporarily closed.

"But if there is PSBB again in Jakarta, it's like the beginning of it, honestly, I'm very sad because my employees have been unemployed for almost 7 months, some have started working. But their salaries in the beginning could still be full, could still give 60 percent of the salary," Inul concluded.
