JPU Not Ready, Lucinta Luna's Reading of Charges Hearing Postponed

Kapanlagi.com - Defendant in the drug abuse case Lucinta Luna is scheduled to undergo a hearing of charges at the West Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (26/8/2020).

However, the charges were not carried out today because the Public Prosecutor's Office (JPU) was not ready to read the charges. Therefore, the Panel of Judges rescheduled the hearing of charges for the following Wednesday.

"The hearing is postponed to Wednesday, September 2. Today, the JPU was not ready to read the charges," said Eko Aryanto, spokesperson for the West Jakarta District Court, on Wednesday (26/8/2020).

1. Appointed as a Suspect

As is known, Lucinta Luna was arrested in her apartment and was designated as a suspect of drug abuse by the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit on February 11th.

From the arrest, the police confiscated 2 ecstasy pills and 7 riklona pills as evidence. After a hair test, Lucinta Luna tested positive for amphetamines.

Lucinta Luna is charged with violating Article 112 paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics for the possession of ecstasy found in her apartment.

2. Denial

In addition, regarding the possession and abuse of psychotropic pills riklona, Lucinta Luna is charged under Article 60 and 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics.

During the trial, Lucinta Luna admitted to the possession of riklona, but she insisted on not admitting the possession of ecstasy found by the police in the trash can at her residence. However, in the police investigation report, Lucinta Luna admitted that the ecstasy belonged to her.

3. Ordered to Confess

In the police report, Lucinta Luna admitted to receiving ecstasy from an unknown woman she met at a nightlife spot in the Senopati area of Jakarta. Due to the unpleasant effects of the ecstasy, Lucinta Luna decided to dispose of it.

"At that time, I lied, Your Honor. I was ordered to confess. I was forced to sign the (police report)," said Lucinta Luna during the trial at the West Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (29/7/2020) via teleconference.
