Arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Anton from J-Rocks Admits to Using Drugs Once

Kapanlagi.com - Drummer J-Rocks, Anton Kelces was arrested by the authorities for possession of marijuana some time ago. He was not alone, Anton was arrested along with several other people who are crew members of J-Rocks.

Met at the Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Police Station, North Jakarta, Saturday (22/8/2020), the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Yusri Yunus, stated that Anton was arrested at his residence in the Serpong area.

"All the arrests were made at their respective places, including ARK, who was arrested at his house in the Serpong area and one package of marijuana was found," he said.

1. Used 7 Years Ago

When questioned by the police, Anton admitted to only using drugs once. However, seven years ago, he also used the illegal substance.

"ARK's (Anton) confession, which is currently making headlines as one of the members of the band JR, is that he only used it once, only this one time. But he did admit that seven years ago he used it, that's his confession," said Yusri.

The lack of jobs during the pandemic led Anton and several J-Rocks crew members to fall into drug use.

"During this Covid-19 pandemic, they admitted that their jobs decreased, and then they filled the void with misusing this illegal substance," he added.

2. Threat of Punishment

As a result of this issue, Anton faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years. He may also be fined approximately 10 million rupiah.

"We will apply Article 111 and Article 114 of the Indonesian Law No. 35 regarding narcotics, with a minimum punishment of five years. The maximum is 20 years or life imprisonment. With a fine of around 10 million rupiah," explained Yusri.
