Roy Kiyoshi's Reaction When the Panel of Judges Imposes a 5-Month Rehabilitation Sentence

Kapanlagi.com - The South Jakarta District Court sentenced Roy Kiyoshi to 5 months of rehabilitation for drug abuse. The judges also decided to deduct the time Roy Kiyoshi spent in custody while undergoing rehabilitation at the Drug Dependency Hospital (RSKO) in East Jakarta.

"Imposing a sentence of 5 months of rehabilitation on the defendant Roy Kiyoshi. Determining that the detention period already served is fully deducted from the imposed sentence," said the judges during the trial held at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (12/8/2020).

1. Roy Kiyoshi Accepts the Decision with an Open Heart

However, Roy does not need to serve the remaining period of his detention in a prison cell. He will only continue the rehabilitation process at RSKO. During the opportunity, Roy's legal representative, Edi Suryono, asked for his opinion regarding the verdict, and Roy himself did not deny and accepted the decision.

"Ordering the defendant to serve the remaining sentence through social rehabilitation at the facilitated rehabilitation center, namely RSKO Cibubur in East Jakarta," he said.

"Accepted, Your Honor, I accept, Your Honor," Roy replied upon receiving the decision from the judges.

Roy Kiyoshi was arrested at his residence in the Cengkareng area of West Jakarta on May 6, 2020. During the search, the police found 21 psychotropic pills, namely 10 pills of diazepam (mersi), 7 pills of Nitrazepam (dumolid), 2 pills of alprazolam (camlet), and 2 pills of Alprazolam (Zypraz).

At that time, the police immediately conducted a urine test on Roy Kiyoshi and the result was positive for using benzodiazepine psychotropic drugs, also known as benzos. The 33-year-old man admitted to buying the psychotropic drugs online without a doctor's prescription.
