Qori Alya Setiawan Participates in DA 8 Audition From 4 AM to Become Like Lesti

The offline audition for D'Academy 8 (DA 8) has entered its final day in Jakarta as the closing city for the audition series. Thousands of participants filled the INDOSIAR Studio Emtek City, West Jakarta, since 07:00 WIB to compete for a ticket to the grand stage of Indosiar on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Among the thousands of participants, Qori Alya Setiawan stands out due to her extraordinary struggle. The 14-year-old teenager, who is still in junior high school, is willing to fly all the way from Mataram to Jakarta just to participate in the D'Academy 8 audition in person.

Qori admitted that she had been at the audition location since 04:00 WIB in the morning to get the chance to perform in front of the judges. Her strong desire to become a professional singer makes her unafraid even when competing with participants from various other regions.

"I am very excited and also nervous. I just want to make my parents proud, it's been my dream since I was little," said Qori Alya Setiawan.

The girl from West Nusa Tenggara revealed that her reason for choosing the audition location in Jakarta is not without reason. Besides being the last city, she is also taking advantage of the school holiday moment to pursue her dream of becoming like her idol, Lesti Kejora.

"So I am from Mataram, I have been here since 4 AM. Yes, from Mataram to Jakarta for the DA 8 audition. The reason for Jakarta is that I can also go sightseeing here. It’s also school holiday. I want to be like sister Lesti," Qori expressed.

During the audition, Qori had prepared two flagship songs titled 'Impressed' and 'The Little One'. He is one of many talents from Sumatra to East Java hoping to continue the success of previous D'Academy alumni.

The success of D'Academy 7, which went viral throughout 2025 with Gen-Z stars like Tasya, Valen, April, and Mila, has become a strong attraction for this year's participants.
