The Struggle to Melt Didi Kempot's Heart to Star in the Movie 'SOBAT AMBYAR', Requires Dozens of Efforts

Kapanlagi.com - It took extra effort from the producers and director of the movie SOBAT AMBYAR to convince Didi Kempot to star in the film. Several producers made offers, but Didi refused.

Charles Gozali felt very lucky when Didi finally agreed to accept his offer. Their team was the only one chosen and Didi agreed to star in the movie SOBAT AMBYAR because of Charles' perseverance in persuading him.

"Indeed, Mas Didi has been approached by many people asking him to participate in their film productions. We are fortunate to be the only ones chosen for now because Mas Didi may see, according to his words, our perseverance," he explained on Tuesday (5/5).

1. Chasing Through Concerts

Charles has visited Didi's concert venue dozens of times. However, Didi did not immediately accept his arrival to make an offer.

"So we chased Mas Didi multiple times to various concerts after contacting him through friends, relatives, acquaintances, but at that time he was hindered because he had performances every day. But eventually he welcomed this opportunity after we tried 15 or 20 times. It took longer because when we met at the location, he was already awaited by many people, and after his performance, he was chased by many people. We also considered Didi's health if we waited until night or even morning. So we gave in and kept trying to find the right time," he recalled.

2. Assisted

Charles was fortunate to be assisted by Didi Kempot's trusted person. With this assistance, their offer was finally accepted by Didi.

"Mas Ige played the biggest role here. He is Didi's trusted person who then continued to help us convey the message. Until Didi finally saw our efforts," he explained.

3. Chat for 2 Hours

Charles's struggle to woo Didi was truly relentless. Until one day, they were accepted by Didi and chatted in the rain for 2 hours.

"There was one time when we knew we couldn't meet but still watched the concert from the side of the stage. When Mas Didi passed by and saw us sitting next to Mas Ige, he stopped and then called my field producer, apologizing for the wait. He is a humble and down-to-earth person. Finally, we had the opportunity to chat under a small tent during the rain. From chatting for two hours, we became more intense. Not only waiting in Jakarta, but we also often traveled back and forth to Solo," said Charles.

4. Accepting the Offer

All the relentless efforts finally paid off. Didi Kempot finally agreed to read the script and accept Charles's offer to make the film SOBAT AMBYAR.

"After we met, we continued to discuss further because we had to explain what the film would be like, how to invite him to be the executive producer. After reading the script, understanding its content and purpose, everything went smoothly. We were warmly welcomed, treated well from production preparations to taking photos for the promo poster," concluded Charles.
