Rumors about Dwayne Johnson's behavior on set emerged after The Wrap published a report in early 2024. The report revealed that the film star is often late during the filming of RED ONE, which has caused the budget for this Christmas-themed movie to soar to US$250 million.

Various sources from The Wrap indicated that The Rock could arrive up to 8 hours late, sometimes forcing the production team to reschedule filming to the next day. Additionally, Dwayne was also reported to have urinated in a bottle because he was reluctant to waste time looking for a public restroom.

"Yes, that really happened. I have emphasized many times, hey, I'm here. Come and ask me directly. And I will tell you what really happened," said Dwayne Johnson to GQ. While acknowledging the tardiness and the bottle incident, he insisted that the controversy was just nonsense.

2. Response from the Director

Red One's director, Jake Kasdan, defended them regarding the delay issues involving the actor. In his interview with GQ, Kasdan emphasized that Johnson was never absent from work.

“He was always present every day, although sometimes late. But this is Hollywood, so such delays are common for many people; maybe he has a lot of work. Honestly, I have also worked on three major films with him. I have never seen him behave any differently than being very friendly and kind to everyone on set,” said Kasdan.
