Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, known as The Russo Brothers, have officially been appointed by Marvel Studios to direct two new films from the AVENGERS series. The involvement of The Russo Brothers in these discussions marks the possibility of their return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after previously successfully directing four films from the AVENGERS franchise.

Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are two well-known figures in the Hollywood film industry. Anthony Russo was born on February 3, 1970, while Joseph Russo was born on July 18, 1971, and both were raised in Cleveland, Ohio by Italian-American parents.

They attended Benedictine High School before continuing their education at university. Joe graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in English and writing, while Anthony completed his studies at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in business before focusing on English.

Their career began with works in independent films and television before eventually stepping into the world of cinema. The Russo Brothers made their directorial, writing, and production debut with the film PIECES in 1997, which was screened at the Slamdance Film Festival.

A big opportunity came when Steven Soderbergh offered them to produce the film WELCOME TO COLLINWOOD (2002). Their success soared even higher when they were hired as directors for several films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
