In a podcast of The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter, recorded at Chapman University, Craig answered many questions from 500 students.
There was an interesting question from a student regarding whether Craig felt afraid to accept the role of James Bond, which could risk him being 'trapped' in the character.
"Yes, of course. That’s why I initially refused—I said, 'No,'" said Daniel Craig, quoted on Wednesday (4/12/2024).
"At that time, there was no script. So, you could say my arrogance was extraordinary. I thought, 'Until I see the script, I can't possibly make a decision,'" said Daniel Craig.
"The fear arose, exactly as you asked, about how this would change my life," he continued.
Craig, who has played James Bond since 2006, admitted that this role has been a significant part of his life for the last 15 years.
