6 Portraits of Makuboys Rising with 'KONCO-KONCO EDAN', A Proof After Being Heavily Criticized - Collaborating with Sahila Hisyam and Abdur Arsyad

The film KONCO-KONCO EDAN carries the horror comedy genre directed by Ody Harahap and written by Imam Darto. The story follows the journey of the Makuboys (Mamet, Kubil, and Bolay) who work at the gold shop owned by Mamet's grandfather, Kartolo. They are given a mission by Kartolo with the promise of a large reward in the form of an inheritance of the gold shop.  

However, their journey is full of obstacles. Starting from disturbances by a curious female ghost to threats from a dangerous criminal. This film also presents stunning visuals with shooting locations in Labuan Bajo to East Timor. 

In addition to the Makuboys, KONCO-KONCO EDAN also stars Sahila Hisyam, Abdur Arsyad, and Pritt Timothy. Although they have taken acting classes, Alfin, Sepriadi, and Dimas admitted to feeling nervous during their first shooting. "There was a feeling of nervousness. We felt a bit inferior, but over time it became okay," said Alfin.

As content creators who went viral in 2021-2022, Makuboys admit to the immense pressure they felt when transitioning to the film world. However, they are grateful that KONCO-KONCO EDAN is finally showing in theaters. "Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful that this film is finally in theaters. We never expected to be at this point," said Alfin.  

Besides being a proving ground, this film also provides valuable lessons for them. "We used to be criticized, but now we can show our real work. This is a big lesson for us to keep striving," said Sepriadi.

With a humorous story, stunning visuals, and a strong moral message, KONCO-KONCO EDAN is expected to be a memorable entertainment for the audience. "We hope this film can be accepted by the public and also serves as our first step in the film industry," concluded Alfin.
