Kapanlagi.com - After a series of successful horror films that attracted millions of viewers, Anggy Umbara is ready to direct a religious romance film titled SETETES EMBUN CINTA NIYALA. Interestingly, the film is adapted from a novel of the same title by Habiburrahman El Shirazy.
When first offered by Manoj Punjabi as the producer, Anggy immediately accepted the opportunity to lead the film. Because he wants to create a heartwarming experience for the audience.
"When I was offered this film, I immediately said yes. I've been wanting to make a drama that touches the audience's hearts," said Anggy when met at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/1/2024).

Getting an offer to direct a film outside the horror genre is highly appreciated by Anggy Umbara. Because for the past two years, the offers that came to him were always related to that genre.
"I'm grateful that finally it's not a horror film that is offered. It's really refreshing. Previously, Mr. Manoj was famous for his AYAT-AYAT CINTA, and I wanted to be a part of it, to create a spectacular drama that can explode and be good," added Anggy.

The film SETETES EMBUN CINTA NIYALA was initially prepared as a series with eight episodes for one of the streaming services. However, creative decisions changed after the pandemic.
"There were many strategic changes after the pandemic. We were almost going to start the series, but because the story is too precious to be made into a series and there is potential to be filmed, based on our joint decision, we made it into a film. Finally, we are ready for shooting," said Manoj Punjabi on the same occasion.
