Collaborating with MD Pictures, Deddy Mizwar Casts Young Star Beby Tsabina in 'NAGA NAGA NAGA'

Kapanlagi.com - Senior actor Deddy Mizwar is collaborating with a young star once again. After working with Syifa Hadju previously, this time he cast Beby Tsabina in his latest film.

Beby was chosen to play the character named Monaga in the movie titled NAGA NAGA NAGA. The character is the only granddaughter of Nagabonar played by Deddy.

1. Reasons for Choosing Beby Tsabina

In an interview with the media, Deddy Mizwar revealed the difficulty in finding an actress to play Monaga. However, he was grateful to have found Beby Tsabina on the last day of casting.

"It was difficult to cast, we only found her on the last day. The reason for choosing Beby is because she physically resembles her character's parents. Then her acting ability. Lastly, the most important thing is her spirit," said Deddy when met by KapanLagi.com at MD Place, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday (21/4/2022).

"For me, it's important to work with someone who has spirit, rather than someone who is highly talented but lacks spirit," added the 67-year-old actor.

2. Collaborating with MD Pictures

NAGA NAGA NAGA is also the first collaboration between MD Pictures and Deddy Mizwar's production company, Citra Sinema. Manoj Punjabi, CEO of MD Pictures, revealed that together with Citra Sinema, they are confident in providing a unique viewing experience that has never been done before.

"I have to be honest, MD cannot produce a film like this and we need to know each other's thoughts. I see a great value in this collaboration and for me, Naga is a big IP. Pak Deddy had this idea 15 years ago, but we only started socializing it three to four years ago," said Manoj at the same occasion.

3. Becoming a New Franchise

Emotionally, NAGA NAGA NAGA is connected to two previously successful film titles. However, through collaboration with MD Pictures, this story will become a new franchise that can be further developed.

"Emotionally it connects, but this is a new franchise. There may be a second one. Last night I contacted the writer for brainstorming again. There are already ideas for where to go next because it needs to be noted. The ideas must be noted, because I tend to forget," said Deddy Mizwar while laughing.
