Exploring the Role of an Elderly Woman Who Dares to Train Using a Cane, Putri Ayudya Makes People Around Her Home Excited

Kapanlagi.com - Putri Ayudya stars in a family drama film titled TUHAN MINTA DUIT. Directed by Azhar Kinoi Lubis, she plays a woman in her fifties who has one grandchild.

Considering that she is only 33 years old, Putri felt that the character of Mbah Kedah was a challenging role. Moreover, the director designed her as a grandmother who is different from most.

"This character is very specific, her age is far above mine even though mentally she is like a child. When I was offered the role of Mbah Kedah, 'Oh, how is this?'. The relationship with her grandchild is not a template, the director does not want her to be a weak grandmother, she remains casual but looks affectionate," said Putri in a press conference in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Monday (28/3/2022).

1. Practicing Using a Cane

In the movie, Mbah Kedah is portrayed as a woman with a limp who has to use a cane. To bring her character to life, Putri Ayudya carried the cane everywhere she went.

"After the reading, I took home the cane that was used as a prop. For a while, I walked around the house using the cane. I went up and down the stairs with the cane," said Putri.

2. Becoming a Question for People Around Her

Not only did Putri Ayudya use the cane while at home, but she also used it when she went out. This immediately made people wonder.

"When I passed by the housing complex, someone asked me, 'Miss, what's wrong with your leg?' I said, 'It's acting.' Then when I went to the vegetable seller, because I was a regular customer, he asked me, 'Miss, what's wrong with you?' I said, 'It's acting.' Then he replied, 'I hope you get well soon, Miss,'" remembered Putri with a laugh.

3. Different Environmental Reactions

Putri Ayudya feels helped when using a cane everywhere to deepen her character. However, at the same time, she feels a different view from the people around her.

"When using a cane, people see the reaction of the environment differently for those who walk with limitations. And that's what I never knew. I'm very happy to be trusted to play this role," explained Putri.

4. Praying for Money

TUHAN MINTA DUIT (GOD ASKING FOR MONEY) will be available on the Klik Film streaming service to open the month of Ramadan. It tells the story of Adi (played by Anantya Rezki) who continues to pray to God for money to help pay for his grandmother's care, Mbah Kedah (played by Putri Ayudya).

Adi's prayer is heard by God because he later finds a bag containing hundreds of millions of money. Unfortunately, the money only brings him trouble. What will happen to Adi and Mbah Kedah next?
