Falcon Pictures Seeks Scripts to be Filmed with a Total Prize of Rp 350 Million, Sneak Peek from the Director

Kapanlagi.com - Kwikku's writing site collaborates with renowned production house Falcon Pictures in search of talented writers to enliven the national film industry. The competition entitled Script Hunt challenges anyone interested in film to submit novel manuscripts, screenplays, and webtoons that will be filmed.

There are seven famous directors involved as judges and directors of each winning script. They are Rako Prijanto, Herwin Novianto, Indra Gunawan, Danial Rifki, Anggy Umbara, Ifa Isfansyah, and Fajar Bustomi.

1. Themes Close to Reality

For those who want to submit novels, screenplays, or webtoons, of course, they don't want their works to be ignored. During a press conference via Zoom on Monday (7/9), the seven directors revealed what kind of stories they are looking for in the competition with a total prize of IDR 350 million.

"If you imagine it, I really want to get writing results or ideas that are close to the authors, either close in terms of theme or space. In the industry, it's understandable because professional writers have a quantity demand, they have to produce a lot. In events like this, we want the writers to write their own world so that there is depth," said Ifa Isfansyah, known for the film SANG PENARI.

Meanwhile, Fajar Bustomi, the director of the DILAN trilogy, wants to find teenage drama scripts but with stories that have never been told before. "I like teenage drama. The teenage world is a beautiful world to be remembered forever. But in Script Hunt, I hope to get important thoughts for the film but rarely made," he said.

Different from Fajar, Anggy Umbara is also different. The director of WARKOP DKI REBORN wants stories related to an event. "I hope to meet writers with organic, original stories and ideas, who have opinions on the themes they bring." I like history, I want to tell a story that has a correlation to it. Because in Indonesia, there are many histories that can be explored, what is forgotten can become relevant. That's what I'm looking for. It doesn't have to be periodic. What happened 10 years ago could be, what happened but is no longer talked about," explained Anggy.

2. Unveiling Repeated Themes

Danial Rifki said they didn't want to look for cliché stories. The writers who will submit their manuscripts are expected to provide fresh ideas while still being close to life as the main theme.

"The problem in our industry is repeated themes, what has been successful is made again until the audience gets bored and the theme is no longer there for the audience. We want to unveil these repeated themes. We hope that those who submit to Kwikku will not follow the existing patterns. Give us themes that we rarely watch and have never heard before. That's what we're looking for, what comments are there about life," said the director of RENTANG KISAH.
