Film HOPE, Lifts the Story of a Toxic Relationship Unconsciously Experienced

Kapanlagi.com - The book titled Hope, written by artist and model Jennifer Darren, is visualized into a film. Just like her book, the film also discusses toxic relationships and emotional abuse.

Produced by Rumatari Production, the 20-minute film showcases the other side of women who are unaware that they are trapped in unhealthy relationships, or toxic relationships, with their partners.

"They are like those who still think 'oh, my relationship is healthy, nothing is wrong with my relationship'. But in fact, they feel and experience toxic relationships from their partners or loved ones," said Jennifer Darren when met at CGV Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, (12/7/2023).

1. Invite Choreographers and Dancers

The film HOPE was made with a choreography concept that depicts issues within a relationship. Jennifer Darren and M Hanafi Lubis were chosen as the main cast.

Wrapped in a strong theatrical atmosphere, several dancers were involved to support the story that is often experienced by many people in Indonesian society.

"We only had a week of filming time, but the choreography was truly maximal. It can be said that the dancers and choreographers who played a role in this film, they are all amazing," said Tendancess, the director of the film HOPE.

2. Background

The film HOPE tells the story of the romance between Jorge and Joana. Acting sweet at the beginning of the relationship, Joana is suddenly faced with Jorge's manipulative behavior. It turns out Jorge is cheating and always denies what he has done.

The film, starring Kausar Anjani, Yoenathan Dwi P, Robin Wang, Tamanovi, Jessica Darren, Stefiosa Khaldea, Christalie, Dellia Airyn, and many more, will be shown on Netflix.
