Film SIKSA KUBUR dan BADARAWUHI DI DESA PENARI Will Be Released on the Same Date, Here's Joko Anwar's Response

Both films will be released in April 2024, coinciding with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. Regarding this matter, Joko Anwar, as the director of SIKSA KUBUR, certainly hopes that each film can find an audience that matches its potential.

1. No Competition

He believes that there will be no competition among filmmakers, especially those from Indonesia.

"Hopefully all films shown in theaters find their audience according to their potential. In my opinion, there is no competition at all," said Joko Anwar when met at Epicentrum XXI, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/3) afternoon.

"Hopefully they all succeed, hopefully they are all good. I support all Indonesian films," he continued.

2. Supporting Domestic Film Production

When asked further, Joko Anwar also emphasized that he strongly supports domestic film productions. He admitted to being very enthusiastic when a good Indonesian film is set to be released in theaters.

"If you follow my social media, whenever there is a good Indonesian film, I get very excited," he said.

"So, as filmmakers, film workers, we must support each other. If there is something good, we support it so it can achieve what it deserves," he concluded.
