'FORWARD BACKWARD HORROR', The Latest Horror Comedy Film with a Complete Entertainment Package

Kapanlagi.com - The production house Makara Production is ready to start shooting its latest film titled FORWARD BACKWARD HORROR, directed by Chiska Doppert. This film brings a new spirit to the horror comedy genre, combining contemporary comedic elements with a unique and relevant story.

Producer Shankar R revealed that the film's title is inspired by popular jargon from past Indonesian films. “Forward Backward Horror has a very nice ring to it. We hope this title can become a new slogan in society and be remembered for a long time,” he said when met in the Tebet area of South Jakarta on Wednesday (20/11/2024).

Makara Production sees the horror genre as having a special place in the hearts of the Indonesian people. However, this time they want to add a greater touch to the comedic elements.

“That’s why we collaborated with Chiska Doppert and the comedy team from Oh Joy Story & Co. to ensure this film delivers fresh laughs,” added Executive Producer Rama Tribudiman.

The Oh Joy Story & Co team, consisting of Mo Sidik, Reno Fenady, and Adi Nugroho, is trusted to maintain the authenticity of the comedy in this film. Mo Sidik expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “Creating comedy has a special formula. With our involvement, it shows how serious the production of Forward Backward Horror is,” he said.

This film also features famous comedians such as Mael Lee, Dodit Mulyanto, Daffa Ariq, and Yewen as the main cast, supported by other actors like Carissa Parusset, Sara Fajira, Gary Iskak, and Ruhut Sitompul. The presence of these comedians is believed to keep the humor fresh and relevant.

The story revolves around four film students who are struggling to complete their final project; they decide to make a horror film as a way out to graduate. However, challenges begin to arise, especially when one of the cast members is declared deceased just before filming.

“This story represents the problems often faced by final-year students, such as the struggle to complete their final project amidst personal conflicts. But we package it with humor and the warmth of friendship,” said Mael Lee.

Besides humor, this film also raises a cultural mission by presenting different backgrounds for each main character. “These four students come from Batak, Javanese, Sundanese, and Papuan cultures. I myself play the Javanese character, and this showcases the cultural diversity of Indonesia,” explained Dodit Mulyanto.

For the dramatic and horror aspects, top artists like Sara Wijayanto, Carissa Parusset, and Sara Fajira also strengthen the story. Carissa Parusset, who makes her debut in the horror genre, admits to being very enthusiastic. “This film is a complete package! It has comedy, horror, drama, and a bit of campus romance. It’s very interesting for viewers from various backgrounds,” she said.

With a combination of famous comedians, talented actors, and a unique story, Maju Serem Mundur Horror*m is expected to be a film that not only entertains but also leaves a deep impression on its audience. This film is predicted to become one of those works that will stick in the public's memory, both because of its story and the slogans it carries.
