Horror Film 'MAKMUM 2' Successfully Collects 222 Thousand Viewers on its Fourth Day of Screening

Kapanlagi.com - The film MAKMUM 2 has been released in cinemas throughout Indonesia since December 30, 2021. This horror film by Guntur Soeharjanto once again presents Titi Kamal's performance as the main character named Rini.

On its first day of screening, MAKMUM 2 managed to gather a total of 46,185 viewers. This achievement made Titi grateful because the audience's enthusiasm was as great as before the pandemic.

"Touched, it feels like (the audience) before the pandemic, the enthusiasm," Titi wrote as quoted from her Instagram post, last Friday (31/12/2021).

After its fourth day of screening, the total viewers of MAKMUM 2 were announced. Unexpectedly, it reached 222,121 viewers.

"Four days of screening and 222 thousand viewers. You guys are too cool. I'm deeply touched!" wrote Titi, quoted from her Instagram post on Monday afternoon (3/1/2022).

2. Developed From a Short Film

MAKMUM 2 is the sequel to the film MAKMUM which was released in 2019. This horror film, directed by Hadrah Daeng Ratu, was developed from a short film with the same title.

This sequel tells the story of Rini, who is a widow with one child. The news of the death of her relative in the village leads her to attend the funeral and then experience terror from the ghost of a makmum.

Unlike the first film, this sequel does not involve the actors and actresses from the original cast. Instead, it features Samuel Rizal, Marcella Zalianty, Dea Panendra, and child actor Jason Bangun.

3. More Challenging than the Prequel Film

Compared to the first film, Titi admitted that she did many challenging things. One example is when she had to shoot scenes on Mount Papandayan. At four in the morning in the midst of a biting cold atmosphere, she had to act possessed using a sling rope.

"I shot that scene (possession) on Mount Papandayan at four in the morning. My body was hung using a sling, and I had to scream until my voice was gone," said Titi Kamal when met in the Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, on Thursday (23/12).

During the shooting of the possession scene, Titi Kamal wore a costume with thin fabric. While waiting for the shooting to take place, she wore a thick jacket so that her body wouldn't get sick.

"At four in the morning, I had to stay on, while the temperature there was twelve degrees and I wore thin clothes. Plus, the atmosphere was cold after raining, it chilled to the bone. So, while waiting for the take, I wore a very thick jacket. But it was fun, it was an experience," said the wife of Christian Sugiono.

5. Burdened by the Success of the First Film

Titi Kamal admitted that she needed to think a lot before accepting the offer to be involved in MAKMUM 2. Considering that the first film was quite successful, even appreciated in Malaysia, she felt a little burdened.

"Initially burdened, but when I read the story, it turned out to be very well-thought-out. All the characters and actors are really good. I lost all my worries, so I'm optimistic now," she concluded.
