KIKO Goes to Japan! Kiko Will Take You to Enjoy the Beauty of Tohoku, Northern Japan

The animation series developed by MNC Animation and aired on MNCTV television station has successfully caught the attention of film enthusiasts and has a fairly large fan base.

This year, KIKO animation will become an ambassador to introduce TOHOKU tourism in Northern Japan to the Indonesian people. The collaboration between MNC Licensing and Creative Minds LLC, Yamagata Broadcasting & Tohoku Inbound Association has brought a special episode titled KIKO in JAPAN.

This program, which combines CGI animation & LIVE Action, will tell the adventures of KIKO and his friends in TOHOKU, Northern Japan, visiting various tourist attractions and tasting local dishes.

Previously, KIKO was successfully aired in 63 different countries worldwide. And through this latest collaboration, CEO of MNC Animation, Liliana Tanoesoedibjo hopes that KIKO can also reach audiences in Asia, especially Japan.

3. Airing on Netflix Since November 26, 2020

Slowly, Indonesian-made animated films or series are starting to gain appreciation from the world. The KIKO animation by MNC Animation can now be enjoyed on Netflix since November 26, 2020.

This achievement is welcomed by Liliana Tanoesoedibjo, CEO of MNC Animation. According to her, Indonesian animation works can no longer be underestimated.

"The airing of KIKO and Titus: Mystery of The Enygma indicates that local animation can no longer be underestimated. We believe that with our vision, local animator works have quality that is not inferior to animators in foreign studios. Netflix and Disney XD are some of MNC's steps to promote local animation on the world stage," said Liliana.

4. Stimulus for Local Animation Industry

As known, KIKO is a 3D animated series from MNC Animation that first aired in 2016 on the national television channel RCTI. Counting with Netflix, KIKO has been broadcasted in 62 countries worldwide, including 11 countries in Southeast Asia, Korea, England, 25 countries in Latin America, 10 countries in Africa, and 14 countries in the Middle East.
