Latest Series by Joko Anwar Titled 'Nightmares and Daydreams' Ready to Air Simultaneously in 190 Countries

Kapanlagi.com - Joko Anwar is back with his latest work, a unique science-fiction supernatural series titled Nightmares and Daydreams. This time, Joko Anwar is not alone, as he collaborates with three young directors for the series, which will air on Netflix on June 14, 2024.

Nightmares and Daydreams itself is inspired by social and political issues happening in Indonesia. In this series, it will depict the complexity of human beings in surviving under various pressures.

"The stories in this series are very relevant to our current lives," said Joko Anwar when met at Senayan City on Wednesday (13/6).

"With the hotly discussed issues, the story is about us, trying to survive life's trials and how we break free from things that hold us back as human beings," he continued.

1. It Takes 2.5 Years

The series Nightmares and Daydreams presents seven stories in seven different episodes. However, there is a common thread among these stories.

In the production process, Joko and the production team took two and a half years to complete Nightmares and Daydreams. This is because many action scenes and artistic effects were needed in the making of the series.

Of course, Joko Anwar hopes that this series will be accepted by the Indonesian community and add variety to Indonesian cinema.

2. Simultaneously Airing in 190 Countries

For your information, Nightmares and Daydreams is directed by Joko Anwar, Ray Pakpahan, Randolph Zaini, and Tommy Dewo. The story is written by Joko Anwar along with Tia Hasibuan and Rafki Hidayat.

It is planned that Nightmares and Daydreams will simultaneously air in 190 countries. The actors and actresses involved in this series include Ario Bayu, Nirina Zubir, Marissa Anita, Lukman Sardi, and many more.
