Make Nostalgia! 'CATATAN SI BOY' Will Return in the Latest Version, Check out the Trailer Excerpt Here

Officially released the trailer on June 22, 2023, the film ' BOY'S NOTES ready to bring back nostalgia and refresh memories on the journey of Boy's love story in the 1980s.  

Remake of the popular film with the same title released in 1987, BOY'S NOTES latest version with the screenplay written by Upi Avianto tells the story of the most memorable first love.

The film, believed by Manoj Punjabi, as its producer, hopes that BOY'S NOTES can inspire young people on how to treat others well or in other words, humanize humans.

Telling the story of a young Jakarta boy named Boy and the challenges he faces in love, friendship, family, and ambitious dreams, which are full of twists and touching because of their deep meaning, where Boy is portrayed as a wealthy young man, but remains humble.

In the production process located in Jakarta and filming during the Covid-19 pandemic, the director, Hanung Bramantyo, admitted to having difficulty in portraying a film with Jakarta as the background and a wealthy family because he himself is originally from Jogja and not from a wealthy family like the character Boy. However, through further exploration, he ensures that this reboot film will recreate the story without abandoning its initial impression.

Interesting fact next is with his totality, Angga Yunanda even tried to shape his body to be more muscular in order to play the role of the legendary main character, Boy.

What's cool is that, even though it's the first time working on a project with Alyssa Daguise, Angga admitted that it wasn't difficult to build chemistry for acting (as reported from his statement during the press conference at CGV Grand Indonesia).

Several old cast members of the movie 'CATATAN SI BOY' (1987) also star in this reboot version. Interestingly, back then Meriam Bellina played Vera, and Dede Yusuf played Andy, Boy's friend. While in this reboot version, Meriam Bellina plays Vera's mother, and Dede Yusuf becomes Boy's father.
