Muhadkly Acho Calls Bene Dion's Acting in AGAK LAEN Similar to Oka Antara

Kapanlagi.com - Accustomed to being a director, Bene Dion finally tried a new challenge to become the lead actor in the movie AGAK LAEN alongside three friends, Indra Jegel, Boris Bokir, and Oki Rengga. Meanwhile, the director's chair was entrusted to Muhadkly Acho. However, being an actor turned out to be not easy for Bene Dion.

“Acting requires great focus, especially when the director is also there, I didn't think I could do it. I even asked Acho if it's possible to reduce Bene's scenes in the script, not too many,” said Bene Dion during the official trailer release at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, some time ago.

1. Cannot Be Chatted During Shooting

Because he is not used to being an actor, during shooting Bene Dion couldn't joke around with the other cast members. He was too focused on memorizing the script.

"Because I'm used to being behind the scenes, not in front of the camera, so during shooting I couldn't be engaged in conversation, busy looking at the script, reading the scenario, while the three of them are used to being in front of the camera. So I was actually nervous. So when I saw the trailer, I was like, who is that person? Why are they there?" Bene Dion said while laughing.

"You have to wait for Bene's acting. Bene really gave his best performance in this film. Bene really couldn't be disturbed during filming. When Boris and Jegel were laughing, Bene was in the corner memorizing the script," added Oki Rengga.

2. Bene Dion's Acting is Like Oka Antara

Bene Dion's acting in this film became a joke for other actors and the director. Even Muhadkly Acho said that Bene Dion's acting is on the same level as actor Oka Antara.

"Wow, many people underestimate him, they should see Bene's acting, it's similar to who? Oka Antara maybe. I've directed Oka Antara before, and Bene is like that. There are definitely some scenes that will surprise people," joked Muhadkly Acho.

"Actually, he had a lot of takes in the early days, just like Oka Antara. Oka Antara had the most takes in Gara-gara Warisan, 6 takes, and this (Bene) is just slightly different, 16 takes. But no, as the days went by, they started to blend," he continued.

The official trailer of the film AGAK LAEN presents a comedy with a touch of mystery that will spice up the film, when four friends who work at a night market, Jegel, Boris, Oki, and Bene, have to hide the body of a visitor who died from a heart attack.

This film is produced by Imajinari in collaboration with Jagartha, Trinity Entertainment Network, A&Z Films, Legacy Pictures, and Agak Laen. Produced by Ernest Prakasa and Dipa Andika, this film will be shown in theaters starting from February 1, 2024.
