Robert Ronny explains that the film THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD relates to unrealistic beauty standards in today's era.

"The beauty standards today, in my opinion, have shifted significantly and place unrealistic pressure on women," said Robert Ronny in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday (13/02/2025).

Robert also mentioned that women today face many demands and pressures due to patriarchal culture. He emphasized that watching this film will strongly convey the pressure on women.

"In my view, the media's demands on women today are very unrealistic. Everyone has to look perfect. It doesn't make sense to me, and because we are a patriarchal culture, it always pressures women. If you watch this film, you will immediately feel what I am hinting at. All of Kiara's protests are my protests," continued Robert Ronny.

3. Challenges in Film Production

Robert Ronny recounts that the challenge in the process of making this romantic comedy film is finding a location for the stranded island scene. Additionally, the technique for the scene where Reuben and Kiara fall into the sea was also a consideration.

"I kept thinking, am I making a romcom or an action movie, why is it so difficult to find a shooting location? Besides that, the technique for several scenes of Reuben and Kiara when they fall into the sea, it’s impossible for me to actually have them fall into the open sea," said Robert Ronny.

4. The Attraction of Reza and Sheila to Get Involved in This Film

Reza Rahadian expressed his longing for romantic comedy films to color Indonesian cinema again.

"I feel like I have been waiting long enough for romcoms to bring color back to Indonesian films. This time, the romcom from Robert Ronny adds to that color. So in my opinion, the attraction lies in the genre of this film itself and its presentation, which I think is very complete, unique, and valuable," said Reza Rahadian.

Sheila Dara expressed her interest in being involved in the film THE MOST BEAUTIFUL IN THE WORLD because of the romantic comedy genre and playing the role of Kiara.

"I was really interested when I was offered the role, especially as Kiara, because I usually play sad characters, so when I was offered a romcom, I was immediately interested," said Sheila Dara.

The film THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD will start streaming exclusively on Netflix on February 14, 2025.
