Official Portrait of the Poster & Trailer Launch of the Film 'ARWAH', The Terror of the Youngest Sofi Ready to Keep You Awake!

The ARWAH trailer shows the story of four siblings who return to their hometown and experience an accident while planning to visit their childhood waterfall. After the tragic event, they begin to be haunted by mysterious terror from their youngest sister, Sofi, who seems to hold messages from another realm.

"The main strength of Arwah lies not only in its chilling ghost figure but also in the layers of mystery that slowly unfold behind the haunting terror. All of this is reflected in its poster, which is full of symbols, mysteries, and question marks," said Jonathan HM, the executive producer.

The official poster is equally terrifying. A girl is seen in an upside-down position with white eyes, a horrifying smile, hugging a tattered, wounded doll. The color red dominates the design, adding a deep horror impression.

Ivan Bandhito as the director explains that this film attempts to step outside the common horror framework in Indonesia, which is often wrapped in religious values and rural settings.

"The onslaught of the global film industry in the homeland, especially horror films that are identical to village settings and religious overtones as a moral identity, makes it not easy to find something new. However, I believe that in any film genre, there are always sub-genres with different styles," explained Ivan.

Ivan also added that ARWAH offers tension with an intellectual approach. "As we know, even in the horror genre, there are many sub-genres such as horror comedy, horror romance, horror thriller, psychological horror, etc. Sofi's story invites the audience to enter into an eternal event where reason and logic need to be used to enjoy it."

Actress Sarah Beatrix admitted that she feels a close connection to the character Sofi that she plays. "Sofi is quite an introverted and quiet person, I feel that there are many parts of her that are similar to me," she said.

Meanwhile, Joshua Suherman, who plays the character Jojo, believes that this film brings horror to a different level. "Arwah is not just about instant fear or jumpscares. This film has a very strong dramatic side and a mystery that keeps the audience curious."

This film also stars Annete Edoarda, Naura Hakim, Irsyadillah, as well as senior actors like Ferry Salim, Roweina Umboh, Julian Kunto, and Egi Fredly. A special appearance by Natasha Germania as a cameo also adds to the appeal.
