Onadio Leonardo Becomes the Main Actor in the Remake of Korean Movie 'HELLO GHOST', Director Initially Doubts His Acting Skills

Kapanlagi.com - Onadio Leonardo has been entrusted with the role of the main actor in the remake of the South Korean movie titled HELLO GHOST. Interestingly, the director, Indra Gunawan, initially doubted his acting abilities.

Indeed, Onad's performance in his debut in PRETTY BOYS was outstanding and received praise. However, the character in this remake movie requires more than that.

"Initially, there were other candidates, but the creative team and producers suggested Onad's name and he was chosen. I was surprised. Onad was good in his previous film, but can he handle the character that needs to cry, be depressed, can Onad do it? I had that concern," said Indra during a virtual press conference last week.

1. Need to be Convinced

To convince himself, Indra Gunawan had a lot of conversations with Indro Warkop, who is also involved in HELLO GHOST and had previously worked with Onadio Leonardo. Still unsure, Indra even discussed with director Rako Prijanto to inquire about Onad's performance.

"So, I talked to Om Indro about Onad without the knowledge of other cast members. Then I talked to Mas Rako because I needed to be convinced. It was really through the back door. Finally, I agreed (to Onad's selection) and believed in Onad's decision to become the main character," explained Indra.

2. First Day of Shooting Still Doubtful

Indra Gunawan's decision to trust Onadio Leonardo to become the main character in the film he is leading is not wrong. Because slowly, Onad turns out to be able to dispel his doubts.

"Honestly, on the first day of shooting, I was still nervous, I just let him be. But when I saw the progress from the reading, coaching, there was improvement. The first day of shooting was still awkward, but on the second day, I was convinced that Onad is suitable to play Kresna," said the director of the film DEAR NATHAN.

3. Followed by Four Ghosts

HELLO GHOST is a remake of the best-selling South Korean film starring Cha Tae Hyun. The Indonesian version is played by Onadio Leonardo, Indro Warkop, Hesti Purwadinata, Tora Sudiro, and Enzy Storia.

This comedy-drama produced by Falcon Pictures tells the story of Kresna, who has attempted suicide several times but failed. He is then followed by four ghosts who borrow his body to solve problems in the world.
