Prilly Latuconsina Reveals the Reason for Choosing Sheila Dara and Ringgo Agus Rahman as Ambassadors of FFI 2025

Prilly Latuconsina shares the story behind the decision to appoint Sheila Dara and Ringgo Agus Rahman as ambassadors for the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) 2025. As the Chair of the Program Committee, Prilly felt the need to consider many factors before proposing these two names to the committee.

According to Prilly, Sheila and Ringgo have been on the list since the initial FFI 2025 meeting was held. She also had to prepare a presentation explaining the reasons for selecting both of them comprehensively.

"Actually, the names Sheila and Ringgo have been there for a long time since our first meeting. As the program chair, I have to present to the committee who we want to appoint as ambassadors, the reasons why, and research all their films first," explained Prilly Latuconsina in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (1/7/2025).

The official appointment was only made after the schedules of the two actors were adjusted to the FFI agenda. Prilly admitted that the process was done once all the plans were finalized.

"Well, contacting them was only possible when we had fixed the schedule so that we could immediately lock in the schedules of these ambassadors since their schedules are busy," said Prilly Latuconsina.

In the process of contacting Ringgo, Prilly even took the time to arrange communication while on vacation. She has high hopes that Ringgo will accept the offer.

"I was really like messaging him, praying a lot during the vacation, hoping he would say yes, hoping he would say yes. But it turns out the response was really good, he immediately said, 'oh okay, I want to.' It's just a shame he can't attend because he just got back from a family vacation tonight, but Ringgo and Sheila will definitely join our program later on the road to FFI," she explained.

For Prilly, the presence of Sheila and Ringgo is considered to represent the spirit of this year's FFI theme, which is Puspawarna Sinema Indonesia. This theme reflects the diversity of genres and colors in Indonesian cinema.

"Puspawarna means a variety of colors, if you look at Ms. Sheila Dara and Ringgo, they have played many genres and won last year. Brother Ringgo, I grew up watching his films until he won yesterday in Falling in Love Like in the Movies," concluded Prilly Latuconsina.
