Rescheduling Release Schedule, No New Indonesian Films Released in Cinemas This Week

Today, Thursday (19/3), there were supposed to be three Indonesian films released in cinemas. First, there is the horror film KKN DI DESA PENARI directed by Awi Suryadi, which is based on the phenomenal horror story on Twitter. Then there is TERSANJUNG, which is a loose adaptation of the TV series of the same title. Lastly, there is JODOHKU YANG MANA? starring Andi Arsyil Rahman and Alexa Key.

1. Announced Through Official Instagram

Unfortunately, these three films have collectively decided to postpone their release a few days before the scheduled date. As of the time this news is published, there hasn't been an official statement regarding the new release date.

Two film titles, namely TERSANJUNG and JODOHKU YANG MANA?, have postponed their release due to the coronavirus. This was revealed through an announcement shared by the production house on their official Instagram account.

2. Due to Technical Reasons

However, it's different for KKN DI DESA PENARI. When contacted by the media, Manoj Punjabi, the owner of MD Pictures, stated that the delay in the release was not due to the COVID-19 pandemic but rather for technical reasons.

"I am postponing the release for technical reasons. It's important to emphasize that while the delay in other countries may be due to the coronavirus, I have a different technical reason. It happens to be the right moment. This film is significant to me, very significant. It's my diamond, and speaking of gold, there's plenty, but a diamond is harder," said Manoj.
