Here are some recommendations for films adapted from best-selling Islamic novels that convey messages about the meaning of life, religion, and love.
Kapanlagi.com - Revalina S. Temat returns to the film world with a challenging role in 'Sun Gazer: Love from the Sky'. This film produced by Warna Pictures is an adaptation of the novel 'Sang Penatap Matahari' by M. Gunawan Yasni. In the film, Revalina plays Aisha, a character based on a true story.
Revalina revealed her reasons for accepting the offer to act in this film. She feels that the story has a profound meaning and is different from previous films.
"Yes, one thing is if I accept a film, I definitely look at the story and the character that will be played. And after I read the story, it was really good. And I truly can't imagine what it would be like if I were in that position? I can't picture it," said Revalina when met in the Serpong area, South Tangerang, (22/1/2025).
Furthermore, Revalina mentioned that this film is not just an inspiration, but a true story that really happened.
"Because this is really beyond reason. That's why I feel like 'to have a story like this is a true story', not just inspiration but indeed this really exists, the character is also real," she said.
"I just met the person I portrayed and it was amazing. I mean, the sacrifice of love is vast and how we can appreciate, value, and be grateful for love itself," she added.

Unlike her previous roles, this time Revalina plays a character whose real-life counterpart still exists. This provides her with a new experience as well as a unique challenge.
"Yes, the difference is because the character is real. If usually my previous films were perhaps fictional, just stories, but this one really has a person. I got to meet the person, chatted a little with them. Yeah, when you watch it later, you'll definitely think, 'how is that possible?'," she explained.
Revalina also acknowledged that portraying a real character requires a great responsibility. She wants to ensure that the character she portrays is well represented on the big screen.

"That's right, it will definitely be a big challenge for me because I have to portray the character of Mbak Ingga well. I may have played the character Umi Pipik before, but now in the film Sun Gazer: Love from the Sky, I am playing a different character. She is the wife of Mas Gunawan who has hereditary problems, yes mashaallah," she said.
In addition to the acting challenges, Revalina admitted that she was very touched when delving into the story presented in this film. She feels that this film depicts a love journey that is full of meaning.
"I was really touched, there are real stories like this that sometimes when we see it, it feels like a fairytale. Only the good things are known. Well, this is basically if you watch the film, insyaallah you will really feel that sense of emotion. There is sadness, but there is also happiness. Well, that's it. This film is truly complete," she revealed.

To prepare for her role, Revalina plans to conduct direct research with the character she is portraying in order to understand the character more deeply.
"Not yet, but I will research directly with Mbak Ingga. Because it’s nice, I can ask questions, I can see what her character is like, how to portray the interior design character," she explained.
The film Sun Gazer: Love from the Sky is scheduled to start shooting on January 26. In addition to Revalina S. Temat, the film will also star Mario Irwinsyah, Ratu Anandita, Niniek L. Karim, and Dewi Yull.
