Actress Sha Ine Febriyanti demonstrates her class as one of the seniors in the Indonesian film scene. The 49-year-old woman plays a mother named Wulan with great finesse. The audience is made to feel like embracing Wulan through the emotions conveyed by the actress in her role.

Although wounded emotionally by her husband's behavior, Wulan is a strong and wise mother in dealing with her situation. The character Tio, played by Bucek Depp, is portrayed as a desperate figure, struggling with his wife and three children, and worse, Tio is trapped in online gambling.

If only Tio's character could have more screen time and detail, such as background and reasons for Tio's downfall, it would make IF ONLY MOTHER DID NOT MARRY FATHER a film that is also perfect in execution.
