Kapanlagi.com - Successful with the DANUR UNIVERSE franchise that collected millions of viewers when it aired in cinemas, MD Entertainment is preparing a series from the same universe. This time titled JURNAL RISA which tells the creepy story of Risa Saraswati when she was a child.
Considering it takes place during Risa's childhood, this series no longer involves Prilly Latuconsina. Instead, the production house chose child actress Shofia Shireen to portray young Risa.

JURNAL RISA is the first series by MD Entertainment that features an all-child cast. Manoj Punjabi, the producer, said that creating content for children has been his dream for a long time.
"So I've always wanted to create content for children, but what should it be? Finally, the team found the story for JURNAL RISA and Disney+ Hotstar was interested in the concept. We were excited to create this series, especially since it's part of the DANUR UNIVERSE, with drama, horror, and fantasy elements," said Manoj when interviewed by KapanLagi.com during the celebration at MD Place, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday (24/2/2022).
Manoj Punjabi said that JOURNAL RISA will not only be a series. Because its creative team is also preparing a screenplay for the big screen, although it will not be made in the near future.
"Originally, it was supposed to be a film, but now we're making it a series first. Maybe the film will be made in two or three years because MD Pictures' film lineup is already full until 2023," explained Manoj Punjabi.
JOURNAL RISA, directed by Awi Suryadi, will be available on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming service this year. Although it is starred by children, Manoj Punjabi presents this series as entertainment for the whole family.
"I don't really believe in the demographics of the audience. I'm not concerned about that, but more about the story being for the family. There is an element of adventure but based on Risa and her family's story," said Manoj.
