Ruben Onsu Produces the Film 'NIA', Reveals Challenges of Working Behind the Scenes

The name Ruben Onsu is not only known as a presenter and a savvy businessman but also as an actor. However, in his latest film project NIA, the former husband of Sarwendah chose to take on a different role, that of an executive producer.

His decision to work behind the scenes has sparked curiosity. When met at a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday (14/11/2025), Ruben revealed his reasons for not acting in this tragic true story film.

According to him, his busy schedule was a primary consideration. He did not want his involvement as an actor to hinder the production process that had already been meticulously scheduled.

"I have a lot of commitments that can't allow me to stay longer, right? Don't let just one player cause the production to be delayed," said Ruben Onsu.

This father of three openly admits that working behind the scenes gives him a different kind of challenge and fatigue. He feels that being a producer drains his energy much more than being an actor who can go home right after the scene is done.

Even so, he still enjoys his role in ensuring that this film can be presented well to the audience. Working together with director Aditya Gumay, whom he describes as very perfectionist, has been a unique experience.
