'SRI ASIH' and 'VIRGO AND THE SPARKLINGS' Ready to Shoot in the Middle of a Pandemic, This is How the Producer Overcomes It

Kapanlagi.com - The next film in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe franchise, namely SRI ASIH and VIRGO AND THE SPARKLINGS, was supposed to start principal photography in the first semester of 2020. However, the corona virus pandemic has delayed everything indefinitely.

Around early July, the Head of the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Cucu Ahmad Kurnia, issued a Decree regarding the permission to carry out shooting by following health protocols. This was welcomed with joy by the producer, director, cast, and all the crew behind the scenes involved.

"We are already in the preparation stage again, currently we have restarted because it was previously halted. Everyone, from the producer, director, crew, and cast, is excited to resume shooting," said Bismarka Kurniawan, the producer from Bumilangit Studios during a virtual conference session via Zoom, on Tuesday (18/8/2020).

1. Combining What Has Been Done

Wicky V Olindo, as the producer of Screenplay Films, said that the shooting process later will combine the methods that other filmmakers have already done. Of course, with some improvements to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

As known, in the past month, several production houses have already taken shots for their halted projects. Let's mention films like ASHIAP MAN, GHOST WRITER 2, SURGA YANG TAK DIRINDUKAN 3, and THE DOLL 3.

"We will start shooting before the end of the year. We are currently preparing the protocols, we are observing what our friends in Jakarta have already started shooting. We will assess and combine the things that we think are good. Of course, we are still learning about the new normal situation because no one knows exactly what should be done. But we will follow the protocols from the health department and the country, in addition to protocols that can ensure the safety of the cast and crew as much as possible," Wicky emphasized.

2. Pevita Pearce vs Adhisty Zara

SRI ASIH is a film directed by Upi that features Pevita Pearce as the main protagonist. Not all the cast members have been announced yet, but rumors suggest the involvement of Sophia Latjuba, Ganindra Bimo, Jefri Nichol, and Dimas Anggara.

Meanwhile, VIRGO AND THE SPARKLINGS is directed by Ody C Harahap. It highlights teenage heroes with musical elements, starring Adhisty Zara, Bryan Domani, and Mawar De Jongh.
