The film PENGIN HIJRAH tells the story of Alina, a young social media influencer who faces various life challenges. Her encounter with Omar, played by Endy Arfian, brings significant changes to her life. Omar becomes the figure who encourages Alina to become a better person.

Steffi Zamora admitted that she was initially hesitant when she first received this role. "Honestly, I was a bit nervous at first because the title 'Pengin Hijrah' sounds very heavy," said Steffi. "It turns out the film is more like a romantic comedy with religious elements, and I am really happy to play in it," she added when met in Central Jakarta, Friday (17/10/2025).

This film, directed by Jastis Arimba, was shot in two countries, namely Indonesia and Uzbekistan. "Aside from Bogor and Belitung, we also had the chance to travel while shooting in Uzbekistan," said Steffi. She mentioned that this film does not preach, but rather presents positive values through a warm story that is close to the lives of young people.

2. Chemistry with Endy Arfian and Funny Moments on Set

Steffi Zamora acted alongside Endy Arfian, who plays the character Omar. They have known each other since 2017, so the working process on set was friendly. However, Steffi admitted that she had some difficulty adjusting at the beginning of the shoot.

"Honestly, it was quite difficult because here, Endy uses a bit of a foreign accent that makes it a bit funny," said Steffi while laughing. Endy also mentioned that their closeness made the shooting atmosphere more relaxed. "When on set, everything is smooth, but after cut, it feels funny," revealed Endy.

Steffi believes that the character Omar plays a significant role in Alina's development. "Without Omar, it seems like Alina would have a hard time growing," she said. She added that Alina's character development was greatly supported by Omar's presence in the story.

The film PENGIN HIJRAH also serves as a promotional platform for the beauty of Uzbekistan as one of the filming locations. This film showcases the charm of snow, cuisine, and strong family traditions typical of the country. PENGIN HIJRAH is scheduled to be released in Indonesian cinemas starting October 30, 2025.
