Kapanlagi.com - Widuri Puteri's big screen debut as Ara in the film CEMARA FAMILY successfully caught attention. She was even nominated for various awards although she did not bring home any trophies.

This year, the performance of the daughter of Widi Mulia and Dwi Sasono can be seen in the children's musical film MY DIARY BOOK by Angling Sagaran. She plays the character named Rintik who is a mute child.

1. Don't Know What Sign Language Is

Widuri Puteri was so excited when she received an offer to act in the musical film MY DIARY with other child actors. Interestingly, when she was first informed about the offer, she didn't know what sign language was.

"So I said, 'There's a offer for a musical film, but you have to be able to use sign language.' And she was like, 'Huh... I want to do it.' I asked her again, 'But do you know sign language?' she didn't know. Ha ha ha, she was so innocent. She didn't know but she was enthusiastic," recalled Dwi Sasono during the poster and trailer launch of the film MY DIARY at CGV Cinema FX Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/4/2020).

Widi added, "She was confused at first when she found out that her role didn't have many lines, she said, 'Then what am I supposed to do?'. But she felt that this was something new, a challenge, and in the end, she enjoyed the process, the learning process," said the singer.

2. Sign Language Practice

Considering her role as a deaf-mute child, Widuri Puteri also learned sign language. Throughout the film, she only communicated through hand movements and sounds without words.

"Children quickly grasp things when they are taught. So there were sessions, there was a teacher who specifically taught her to practice according to the dialogues in the film, and it took time," said Dwi Sasono.

MY DIARY will be screened in theaters on March 12, 2020. In addition to Widuri Puteri, this film also stars Widi Mulia, Dwi Sasono, Gary Iskan, Slamet Rahardjo, and a newcomer who is a graduate of the Indonesian Idol Junior named Kila Putri Alam.
