Production of 'SUZZANNA: SANTET ILMU PELEBUR NYAWA' Delayed Because the Story is Not Mature Yet

Kapanlagi.com - Soraya Intercine Films production house has just announced their preparation to make the second film of the late character Suzzanna. This time it is titled SUZZANNA: SANTET ILMU PELEBUR NYAWA which is a loose adaptation of the 1988 film SANTET.

The second film that showcases the iconic figure of Suzzanna through actress Luna Maya was supposed to start production last year. However, it had to be postponed because the producer, Sunil Soraya, admitted that the story was not mature yet.

"Actually, we wanted to make the second film since last year. But I felt that the story was not ready, not believable, not realistic, and not yet a structure. So, it was not made and postponed until this year. I feel that this story is ready enough to move forward," said Sunil during the teaser poster launch of SUZZANNA: SANTET ILMU PELEBUR NYAWA at the Soraya Intercine Films office, KH Wahid Hasyim area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (30/1/2020).

1. Prioritizing the Story

In producing a film, Sunil Soraya tends to be perfectionist. The scriptwriter may be asked to create dozens of drafts to ensure the perfect result.

"I focus more on the story, the characters, and then the script, that's what I need to pay attention to first. Because once it's in the production process, it's already too late, it will be difficult if the story is not strong, there's no point in doing all of this," Sunil emphasized.

2. Entertaining Films

For every title created, Sunil Soraya allocates at least two years for the entire process. He doesn't want the films offered to the public to be less than optimal and easily forgotten.

"When making a film, I don't think about the target number of viewers, but what the characters I tell in this film want. If they don't have a direction, what's the point of making the film? Films are made for people to come with their families, partners, friends, right? Our target is to entertain many people," Sunil Soraya concluded.
