The film follows the journey of Putri (Rachel Amanda), a young woman who is forced to work in the factory to pay off her mother's debts, who reportedly committed suicide. However, her sister, Ida (Lutesha), believes that their mother's death was not an ordinary accident, but rather triggered by a terrifying mystical force at the workplace.
As Putri and Ida work day and night, they begin to feel the chilling atmosphere of the factory. Not only are there scary stories circulating among the workers, but they also start witnessing strange and unexplained occurrences that haunt the employees. MONSTER HAIR FACTORY is in the spotlight not only because of its unique story but also because it marks an interesting collaboration between Dian Sastrowardoyo and Iqbaal Ramadhan as producers.
"For me, being a partner with my friends from Palari is a great privilege as a film practitioner," said Dian Sastrowardoyo in the Jatinegara area of East Jakarta on Monday (18/11/2024).
As one of the producers, Iqbaal Ramadhan also expressed that he must do his best to convey a good message to the audience of his film.
"As an Executive Producer, you have more capacity and space to be involved in the behind-the-scenes process. So how we convey the message as well and as close as possible to the audience," said Iqbaal Ramadhan, producer and actor of Bona in the film MONSTER HAIR FACTORY.

MONSTER HAIR FACTORY is produced through a collaboration of three production houses from three countries, namely Palari Films (Indonesia), Hassaku Lab (Japan), and Giraffe Pictures (Singapore). This international synergy is expected to bring a unique flavor while also expanding Indonesian cinema on the global stage.
"So we started this film journey in 2023 around November with the international title SLEEP NO MORE, from there Edwin as the writer along with Eka Kurniawan," said Meiske Taurisia as the producer at a press conference at the National Film Production office in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Monday (18/11/2024)
"The goal is so that our film can be celebrated in those countries, that is the main thing. There are other aspects regarding professional exchange because we have crew from Japan and Singapore and other financing-related matters," she added.
