The film industry in the homeland is once again enlivened by the latest horror titled THE WOMAN WHO BRINGS MISFORTUNE, which released its official trailer on August 20, 2025. This film raises the myth of the laweyan shoulder or a woman who has a birthmark on her left shoulder, is favored by supernatural beings, and brings disaster to the men who marry her.

The trailer opens with Mirah (Raihaanun) whose life is miserable due to a curse. Every husband who marries her is haunted, chased, and then brutally devoured by the evil creature that resides within her.
This made Mirah known as a woman who brings misfortune. Mirah was even shunned and told to leave by the people in her immediate surroundings.
Mirah also confessed that she was always haunted by the shadows of her former husbands. Mirah thought that the unending misfortunes in her life were due to the 'debts' of her actions that needed to be repaid.
Because this troubled her, Mirah then asked a figure known as mbah (Didik Nini Thowok). What was really happening to her.
This 1 minute 40 second trailer also shows a number of mystical terrors, one of which is the appearance of a horse-drawn carriage with a headless driver.
This film stars Raihaanun, Morgan Oey, Clara Bernadeth, Didik Nini Thowok, Rukman Rosadi, Aurra Kharishma, Benidictus Siregar, and Ben Bening.
Mark the date, the film THE CURSED WOMAN by Fajar Nugros will be released on September 18, 2025, in theaters.
