Until Sleeping in the Mess, Rachel Vennya Becomes a Factory Worker in the Horror Film 'DEBT OF LIFE'

Kapanlagi.com - Instagram celebrity Rachel Vennya is trying her hand at acting again by accepting a role in a horror film titled DEBT OF LIFE. This work directed by Billy Christian is a new experience for Rachel, especially since this is her first horror film.

"I want to step out of my comfort zone. When this offer came, I was sure I could do it, that's why I accepted it," said Rachel at the press conference for the film DEBT OF LIFE at XXI Metropole, Cikini, Central Jakarta, Thursday (21/11/2024).

In this film, Rachel plays Tri, a factory worker with quite a creepy personality. Although this role is relatively new for her, Rachel admits she can adapt well.

1. Sleeping in the Mess

"There are many similarities between Tri and me, so it’s not that difficult. The hardest part is probably being a factory worker, because I have never experienced it," said Rachel Vennya.

To delve into the character of Tri, Rachel conducted direct observations of factory workers' lives. This process helped Rachel to perform more naturally in portraying the character of Tri.

"I learned how they work, how they socialize, even sleeping in the mess. It all became an experience that broadened my perspective," she explained.

However, she did not hide her feelings of inadequacy when she had to act alongside Mohammad Khan and Taskya Namya, two experienced actors.

2. The Biggest Challenge

"I asked them for help, if my acting is bad, just tell me and don’t be afraid. But so far, it’s been fine," she said.

Rachel revealed that the biggest challenge during filming was adjusting her emotions to make her acting feel convincing. She learned a lot from Taskya Namya, who is known for her expertise in the horror genre.

"I was confused about how to act, I even became hysterical because I couldn’t do it. In the end, Taskya came to me, we held hands, and cried together," she revealed.

3. Scheduled for December 2024

The film HUTANG NYAWA is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 12, 2024. In addition to Rachel, the film also stars Mohammad Khan, Taskya Namya, Mike Lucock, and other actors.
