Unveiled! The idea for the film 'BACKSTAGE' started when the producer heard Sissy Prescillia singing.

Kapanlagi.com - Paragon Pictures production house collaborated with Ideosource Entertainment to present a drama about music titled BACKSTAGE. This film, directed by Guntur Soeharjanto, features siblings Sissy Prescillia and Vanesha Prescilla as the main cast.

Robert Ronny, the producer, revealed that the initial idea for making this film came up in 2016. Interestingly, the idea came spontaneously after hearing Sissy Prescillia sing.

"The idea for this story started in 2016 when Ms. Mira Lesmana invited me and all the cast of ADA APA DENGAN CINTA? 2 to the Fukuoka Film Festival. We had conversations during that week. Until finally, I heard Sissy sing and her voice turned out to be pleasant," said Robert during the kick-off of the film BACKSTAGE in Kemang, South Jakarta, on Thursday (5/3).

Sissy confirmed this, "So when I was singing, suddenly Mas Robert said, 'Your voice is really good'. That was the first. Then I sang again, and he said, 'Hey, I have an idea, how about we make a film?'."

1. Not Familiar with Vanesha Prescilla

The next day, Robert Ronny told the initial concept of the film BACKSTAGE, which is about sibling rivalry combined with music elements. At that time, Sissy Prescilla mentioned the name Vanesha Prescilla as her co-star. It should be noted that at that time Vanesha was not yet known as an actor.

"At that time Sissy said, 'Let my sister play the role of my sister'. I asked, 'Who is your sister?'. At that time Sasha had not yet acted in a film. Then Sissy answered, 'My sister is very popular on Instagram. She is an influencer'. So I agreed to create chemistry," said Robert.

2. Not a Musical Film

Although it is about music, BACKSTAGE is not a musical presentation. Robert Ronny mentioned that the concept of this film will be somewhat similar to A STAR IS BORN.

In addition to siblings Sissy and Vanesha, this film also stars Achmad Megantara, Karina Suwandi, Aulia Sarah, Verdi Solaiman, and Roy Sungkono. If there are no obstacles, the film will be released in mid-2020.
