Zulfa Maharani admits playing the character of Nunung in the film 'SRIMULAT' is a big burden for her

However, for this 23-year-old girl, playing the role of a living legend is a big burden for her. Moreover, the current figure of Nunung can be said to be very different from the past when she was still in Srimulat.

"From the first reading, it has already been a burden for me. Because, I mean, if the character of Mbak Nunung is iconic, legendary, and she is still successful until now, when she was still in OVJ," said Zulfa Maharani when met in the Senayan area, South Jakarta, (31/10) Tuesday afternoon.

Indeed, Nunung herself still exists and is still successful in her career in the entertainment industry in the country until today. However, Zulfa considers the current and past figure of Nunung to be very different, therefore, as an actor, Zulfa tries to find references in playing her role.

"I grew up with Sister Nunung in OVJ. But in terms of character, it's not Sister Nunung in OVJ, but Sister Nunung in Srimulat," she said.

"And that was during her youth, which is not available on YouTube or any other source, so I have to meet Sister Nunung and people from Srimulat," she continued.

2. Find the Solution

For her, as the process went on, Zulfa finally found a solution on how to portray the character she played well. According to her, not only herself, but other actors and actresses involved in the movie SRIMULAT HIDUP MEMANG KOMEDI also felt the same way.

"Portraying a great character that all Indonesians know is an extremely challenging task. However, I feel that the immense burden is shared among friends, so I know they also feel the weight. Because we are portraying legends," she concluded.
