After a Decade, Vagetoz Releases a New Album, 12 Sweet Songs Packaged in My Story, Your Story

Kapanlagi.com - After more than a decade of absence in releasing albums, Vagetoz finally returns with their latest work consisting of 12 songs packaged in an album titled "My Story, Your Story". This album is their first work since releasing the album "I Just Want You to Know" in 2009.

"My Story, Your Story" itself has a broad meaning. It depends on how we interpret it. However, one thing is certain, this album can somewhat satisfy the longing of Vagetoz fans who want to listen to their idol's work in the form of an album.

"Actually, the desire to release a new album has been there since long ago. But since cassettes and CDs are becoming rare in stores, we have released more singles. However, this time we were given the opportunity by the label to release a digital album. Even though there is no physical album, this makes us happy because this album becomes our identity as a band," said Teguh Permana, the vocalist.

In the album "My Story, Your Story", Vagetoz presents 12 songs that are their characteristic. All the songs in this album have a love theme.

Although Vagetoz presents them in different ways. Some contain sad stories, while others have a love theme that ends with happiness. However, what is clear is that the stories are based on ordinary occurrences in society.

1. Very Colorful

If listened to as a whole, the songs in this album are quite colorful. They even tend to bring a new nuance to Vagetoz's musical style.

"Of all the singles we've made, honestly, this will be my favorite album. Because out of those 12 songs, this one is very colorful to me. Whether it's the arrangement, the music, maybe people will feel there's a new color but still not leaving the Vagetoz vibe," said Teguh.

One of Teguh's favorite songs is "Sepi", which tells the story of his relationship with his mother. Although not directly mentioned, this song depicts his feelings of loneliness. This song is quite emotional for Teguh. In fact, Teguh felt unable to sing it at one point.

"It's indeed a story about a room that I once felt warm and peaceful in, but now it has changed. Now I feel lonely, I don't hear the usual voice calling me. That song is really sad," said Teguh.

2. Maximized Work

Even vocal takes had to be done repeatedly. Teguh admitted that he couldn't hold back his tears several times. "Several times during the vocal takes, I cried and couldn't handle it. So the next day, I tried again even though I felt that I might get a better result when crying. But I couldn't just take a lot of crying. I tried really hard to hold back the tears, to control the emotions," Teguh explained.

Regarding the differences from their previous album, Teguh mentioned that each song has a different nuance and arrangement. "There are songs that have been slightly updated, which might feel fresher to the listeners. However, we still try to maintain the musical identity of Vagetoz that has been known by the fans," Teguh said.

3. Satisfying Fans' Longing

The album "Ceritaku Ceritamu" also presents the song "Pencarianku", which according to Teguh, is not just a song about heartbreak. "The lyrics depict a couple where one is in despair, but the other remains faithful in supporting and accompanying," he explained.

With the release of this new album, Vagetoz hopes to satisfy the longing of their loyal fans. However, they still want to maintain the essence and uniqueness of their music that has been widely recognized.

"There are 12 songs in this album that truly represent Vagetoz's identity. People will be curious. They will be curious about what the songs are like," Teguh said.
