Recently, fans of THE PRINCESS DIARIES were surprised by the announcement that Disney will be producing a third film in the series. Anne Hathaway, who plays Mia Thermopolis, hinted at the return of this story with the phrase "The fairy tale continues" on her Instagram. Interestingly, Adele Lim, director of JOY RIDE and screenwriter of CRAZY RICH ASIANS, will direct this sequel and bring a new perspective to the project.

This news was enthusiastically welcomed by fans who still remember the success of the two previous films. THE PRINCESS DIARIES (2001) and THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2: ROYAL ENGAGEMENT (2004) managed to earn 300 million US dollars at the box office and became an iconic part of Disney's film history. Many hope that this third film can bring back the magic and excitement that was previously enjoyed.

However, THE PRINCESS DIARIES 3  is not the only sequel that is eagerly awaited. Disney has planned various sequels to iconic non-animated films for 2025 and beyond. For live-action film fans, it is reported that there are seven non-animated Disney film sequels to look forward to, including THE PRINCESS DIARIES 3!

TRON: ARES - Continuing the story of TRON: LEGACY (2010), featuring Ares, a character sent from the digital world to the real world to carry out a dangerous mission. Delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, TRON: ARES is scheduled for release on October 10, 2025.
